Yesterday I ventured out to Dothill Nature Reserve. I had intended to walk along the Silkin way but I came across a large puddle that caused me to have a change of plan. I skirted through the edge of Apley Woods and rejoined the Sillkin Way further along.
Whilst in the woods I took the opportunity to sit and rest a while. This gave a dog (as on a recent walk) the chance to say hello, leaving leaving a paw print on my leg.
I explored a bit of Dothill Nature Reserve that I had not visited before. As I stopped to take a photograph I noticed that I was being watched from above. The photographs of my onlooker are not the best quality due to my camera being hand held and on full zoom.
As I made my way back home I could hear the mewing sound of buzzards in flight and looked up to see three of them flying high above my head.
excellent shots, CP. i loved the birds, all of them. to me, it is always a pleasure to meet a dog on a walk, i get a lot of paw prints and wet noses.
I too love to meet dogs on a walk. So many of them come to say hello
Are you still walking for your yearly challenge, Cherie?
I am still doing the #Walk1000miles challenge. For my 2020 challenge I have so far walked 192 miles. If February hadn’t been such awful walking weather (with storms and driving rain) I would have gathered a few more miles.
I love the walking challenge
Astrid and I have been on some muddy walks with Lisl in the past, Cherry, and can understand the need to turn and find another way. It looks like you did a great job of managing a fine walk through the reserve.
There is mud on a lot of our pathways at the moment. I doesn’t make for pleasant walking so I choose alternatives wherever possible.
Mud… I know all about it and I think you did well with the other tracks. Wonderful pictures. Don’t you love the things you see while walking!!!
I love to see the unexpected when I am out walking
You did a great job of spotting your onlooker!
I had a spider sense that alerted me to his presence
Wow, what a surprise!
I don’t think I have seen any buzzards this close before.
Buzsards often fly over my house and sometime settle on trees around my house.
