We changed from imperial to metric in 1966, so I don’t remember how far a six miles hike is. But it sounds like a long way Well done!
So did we but imperial had already lodged itself within my brain and I was never able to adjust. Perhaps that is due imperial measurements reflecting the measurements of time and nature. The cycles of months, years, days, minutes, harmonic speed of light (for example) are all based on 12.
6 miles is approximately 9.6 kilometers.
Very impressive ????
Very impressive!!!
Re “So did we…” but for some reason we stuck with miles for speed limits and road signs, and so most people do still think of journeys in terms of miles. Six miles is a lengthy walk for sure, but interesting scenery can make it seem shorter.
What impressed me most (during my lockdown walks) is that I have found that a journey from A to B on foot takes less miles than from A to B by road or rail.
It is fascinating to walk locally rather than drive everywhere. When I walked to places on foot I realised that places are much closer than I thought…
Did you have a go on the swing?
No… Perhaps I should have done…
Maybe next time
