The sun was out and the Autumn colours of Hodnet gardens were calling me. I had lunch in the afternoon sunshine before a quick walk around the gardens. Due to my time limitation I couldn’t linger as long as would usually which meant I had to miss out parts of the garden but what I saw was wonderful.
And there are still a few more opportunities for me to visit again before the gardens close for the season.
I saw a similar barn just like this in St Fagan’s, Cardiff earlier this year!
Have you been there before?
Highly recommended.
I have not been to Cardiff, apart from briefly as a teenager. It wasn’t an entirely pleasant experience. Two guys tried to chat up my mum as we walked down the street (until my dad caught up with us). Then there was an awful fight where one guy was knocked out by a punch. He landed on the floor, his head hitting the ground with a thud. Amazing what I remember from all those years ago.
I have been to Hodnet Hall many times
Exactly, parts of the city can still be rather rough.
Just got back from North Wales, so many stores closed down which was so sad to see.
Bit like Blackpool, very sad indeed.
Where in North Wales did you visit?
Conwy, Deganwy, Llandudno, Penryhn Castle, Bangor, Llanberis and Caernarfon.
Didn’t have time to venture into Anglesey.
So maybe next time.
Have you been to Penryhn Castle before?
Spent almost a whole day at Caernarfon Castle!
I have vague memories of visiting Penryhn Castle as a child but it is one of the few Welsh Castles that I haven’t visited as an adult.
We went to Caernarfon Castle earlier in the year and were quite surprised to find it very quiet for a bank holiday weekend.
I look forward to seeing pictures of your adventures
A beautiful old barn there.
This barn fascinates me. It was particularly beautiful in the sunlight
Good not to miss these opportunities, Cherie. What a super barn, too
The barn is fascinating I am glad a seized the opportunity, this sunday the garden won’t be open due to our recent storm.
Always make the best of the weather and you certainly did!
Lovely photographs
All the best Jan
