When I am alone the flowers are really seen; I can pay attention to them. They are felt presences.

Summer in October
Summer in England has arrived unseasonably late. I am not complaining, the days have been warm enough for me to enjoy sitting out on the patio reading a book watching the sun go down.

The Easter Cross
As part of the Easter celebrations my local parish church erects a wooden cross and adorns it with flowers. This is done by the congregation just before the Easter morning service.
