    How strange that you should mention Santayana. I’m reading his third volume of “The Life Of Reason” at the moment – its excellent.

      Ahh! Thank you :-) I had written the photo off, but when I was looking for a picture to go with the quote it seemed to be just the right one…

    Santayana certainly lived by that principle himself. And, yes, of course one should never stop reflecting on things – as long as the mind is capable of this. Lovely pic!

      I am always reflecting on things, I am sure I drive people mad ;-)

      Thanks for the comment about the pic, as you can see from my comment to Sean I wasn’t sure about it initially. Then it just seemed to work for this quote, with the two people on the top of the tower and the sparkles on the water.

    This is my favourite castle since at least 14 years of age when I first saw it in a book.
