This figurehead (Medusa) was taken from the ship implacable.  This ship was originally named Duguay-Trouin which was a French ship that fought in the Battle of Trafalgar.  Later it was captured by the British and renamed.*

    I think that expression would scare any intruders away! Just catching up on your other posts and nice pictures. Hopefully you will get back to the places you missed, but one of the many advantages of this country is that there is so much to see and learn.
