After checking out of the hotel we walked along the bit of the town walls that we hadn’t already done. Following that we had a quick visit to the City Art Gallery whilst we waited for the Treasurer’s House to open.
The Treasurer’s House is only open for guided tours at this time of year. When we arrived we chose the ghostly myths tour which was very interesting, especially the story of a child visitor that could see a lady in one of the rooms that no-one else could see. That particular room did have rather an unusual type of coldness to it. After the tour we had lunch in the teashop before parting our ways and returning home.
Speaking of ghosts reminds me of a strange incident at work today. Both my colleague and I heard the noise of footfall and were aware of a presence behind us. When we looked there was no-one there…
A good time Cherie. I like that sign!
It made me smile I just had to photograph it!
Ghost stories scare me, Cherry. Seriously. You’re lucky you had someone with you when you heart the footsteps. That would have creeped me out.
I have had lots of strange experiences over the years. Some of them very scary. This one wasn’t scary although there is a bit more to the story though.
I am in the process of taking over the work of the colleague that I was sitting with. We spend a few hours each day working together so I can learn the background of the job. The very last thing we looked at today involved looking up information on a particular electronic system.
When you open up the view comments on that system, by default it opens up the first item on the list or if you are already logged in, the last item you were looking at. Not today… It opened up the page for the item we were just about to look at!!!
It did make us do a check to see if we had already reviewed the item. We had not…
Strange but true.
Hi Cherie, perhaps the ghost was cleaning out the cupboards?
I think the different ghosts in this post were doing different things…
Not all have been explained fully.
Another good day in York.
It certainly was
oooo, spooky! Fun time!
I find this sort of spooky very interesting…
Very spooky, and a great post.
Thanks for visiting, I am glad you found the post interesting.
nice tour ! see you
I am glad you enjoyed the virtual journey
The walls are always the thing in Yorkshire, giving it its character [among other things].
There are so many things about York that make it special. North Yorkshire especially holds a peace of my heart as does Northumberland. I am drawn, maybe it is because it is the place where a lot of my ancestors resided. I am not sure…
I missed this gallery when I was there!
Damn- spent too long at Betty’s!
Blame the cakes. Not me.
It is only a small gallery, so it doesn’t take very long to go round.
Never been in The Treasurers house but the Art Gallery is a great location for photographs at anytime of day.
I need to revisit the treasurers house when it is fully open. I had forgotten how interesting it is.
