Monday

It was a day of two halves, the good and the bad. The tiler arrived in good time, finished off the last bit of wall tiling and then did the grouting. The person who will eventually paint the walls turned up in good time to assess the situation.

Then half an hour after the fitters were due to arrive and install the cooker and finish the last few bits and pieces (such as putting the wall sockets back in place) an email arrived (not a phone call?) to say there had been a problem with the cooker which was supposed to have been delivered to the kitchen suppliers by Hotpoint.  No cooker!

Hopefully the kitchen suppliers will come up with a suitable alternative tomorrow…

I was so looking forward to some home cooked food tonight!!

Hi Cherie… my thought for today is:
“I cried because i had no shoes.
Until i met a man who had no feet.”

Seems to become a great kitchen where you can cook and just hang around. :)

Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet! ha!
The new kitchen looks warm and harmonious.
    I am expecting your cooking.

I have just caught the bitterness of its taste. I am normally extremely patient ;-)

I was hoping for warm and harmoneous, I am glad you got that feel from it.

I will see what I can do about the cooking!!

  4. Love your wall tiles!
    Great choice of colours.
All so neutral, easy to go with your new white goods. :)

You wouldn’t believe how difficult it is to get white goods. You can have whatever you like as long as it is in black or stainless steel!!

The kitchen’s looking good. Love the tiles. Hope the cooker has been sorted today. Ours hadn’t been ordered and the replacement they offered wasn’t what I wanted so they lent us one for a few weeks – but I’m sure that won’t happen to you!!

It seems you have had the exact same problem as me except that our cooker had been ordered and Hotpoint had been fobbing them off. The lady who designed our kitchen got onto the case today. She came up with a few options including one I had sourced for myself last night. Between them the eventually found the model and colour we had ordered and it should be delivered to them tomorrow morning ready to be fitted tomorrow afternoon.

      More tomorrow…
