Is that a window or a doorway stoned in?
I don’t know
Great framing of all of these shots Cherie… i still can’t understand why churches would have statues of ghouls on them… i guess they are showing us the alternative life after death….peter:)
It is to stop the evil spirits entering the church or to frighten the people into attending church.
Wonderful architecture, nice shots by you!
Thank you Mats
A fine piece of architecture indeed
Thank you Jams
Don’t you love those gargoyles?? I love them and in France, it seems that they are so important. Beautiful art. Great set of pictures. Great details.
Gargoyles fascinate me and I loved it when I visited York and the had the sculptors had been carving replacements for the ones that had deteriorated. They were on display within York Minster, before being placed in their final positions outside.
Ha ha… They had window tax in France too?!
Maybe… I was curious about that blanked out arch…
You have some stunning architectural pictures here, Cherie
Thank you Lisl
I took them with the new lens that I got after we met
Have browsed through all your French pics. Always like seeing the French châteaus.
I am glad you enjoyed the views
