    When I think of all the Frenchmen who died on battlefields because of Napoleon’s ambition, I always wonder why France still celebrates him. In my books, he was a scoundrel and a criminal. Still l’Arche du Triomphe is a beautiful work of art. And you took great photos of the remarkable details.

    What a wonderful series of pictures Cherie… the Arc de Triomphe is grand… but even more so when you look at the individual sculptures….peter:)

    I’ve walked past it twice, and never walked under it to look up and never climbed it. What a fool I am (though impatient children explains the foolishness on the 2nd occasion). I hope I get another chance.
