I like statues in shrubery and around pools. A question arises though… do I like them showing ‘age’ and effects of the elements; or pristine? I have not decided.
I think that in amongst foliage I like to see them slightly weathered so they blend in with the surroundings.
Here is a quite different statue that I saw in the distance. I had to use full zoom to capture the photo. I am undecided whether I like it the way it is or if it should be tidied up and and as you say made pristine.

Bears a resemblance to William Ricketts Sanctuary in Australia.
I had to Google There are certainly some interesting statues there
