Great detail remains in the ceiling. Such interesting places. I’m so excited about our upcoming trip!
I look forward to hearing all about your travels. I know you will love your trip
What happened to some of the faces in the mural?!
The information doesn’t say why the faces are missing (maybe it is not known). The central figure is Christ and the figure on the right is a Blessing Saint.
What a wonderful place to visit. We love these hidden treasures. Wonderful fresco’s. Indeed strange about the faces. Maybe it had something to do with the ‘reformation’?
I found the removing of the faces a little disturbing. It could be the reformation. I didn’t inspect the mural closely when I visited but from the picture it looks like the plaster has been cut out, so maybe someone removed the faces so that they could have them?
A privilege to see these, Cherie
It is Lisl
very appealing cloister dear Cherie!
perfect for meditation ,amazing art on walls and ceiling
The cloister does have a relaxing feel to it
Time takes its toll on all things.
It does and I quite like the faded murals but the removal of the faces a found a little disturbing.
