500 Mile Reward

Despite this years obstacles, firstly floods and then limited walking due to lockdown I have eventually reached 500 miles in my #walk1000miles challenge. I am so pleased that I am half way there :-)

As luck would have it my 500 mile reward (only ordered on Sunday) arrived today. I am looking forward to trying these summer weight socks when the sun decides to put its hat on.

After a bit of trial and error over the past couple of days I have planned a new walking route to explore.

Well done!! I’ve not checked to see how far I’ve walked so far this year but I know very well that I’ve only done a few “proper” walks, rather than just to get my 10K steps in for the day.

      Thanks Alan :-)

I haven’t been getting my 10000 steps a day in but at least I am on track to achieve my 1000 miles in a year :-)

Well done. Since the lockdown started I have done hardly any walking, even though the regulations have relaxed enough to allow for a walk around the block.

Melbourne went into full lockdown for 2.5 months, then we all flooded out with relief and excitement. Now, in July, half of Melbourne is back into lockdown but my suburb is free to walk and shop with sensible distancing.

Hels, that is what will happen in England (it already has in Leicester). Many people are in denial with regards to the virus and do not respect social distancing rules.

The media and social media have been spouting misinformation, providing the fuel for people to act irresponsibly.

Steve, I have done less walking than I intended. Some of the paths near me are busy because everyone is at home rather than at work and the kids are not at school. This means I have had to seek out quieter pathways (due to many people not respecting ’social distancing’)

I have enjoyed finding new pathways but having to think where I walk rather than just wander is counter productive to going for a walk to relax in nature and the surrounding area.
