The life size bronze statue of Stan Laurel is located on Theatre Corner, the site once occupied by the Eden Theatre owned by his parents. Laurel, featured in his iconic head-scratching pose, dressed in dungarees, with paintbrush in hand, is standing on a cubed marble plinth, with 13 iconic film reels at his heels.

Another Fine Mess…

an interesting spot and well shot, all the images, but i particularly liked the shadows, CherryPie.
The shadows were my Laurel and Hardy take
Laurel and Hardy were amazingly famous across the world, weren’t they? My late dad talked happily about their films that he saw in the late 1920s – middle 1930s
They were, although the humour was not my cup of tea
An amazing statue – love the last photo of the shadows
It is a lovely statue. The shadow was my play on the duo
His height looks rather short?
They didn’t make it this short for comical purpose, did they?
I think maybe it is size ratio to plinth causing an optical illusion?
How lovely. I love Laurel & Hardy
Thank you
What a striking piece.
It is very detailed and shows off the ‘Character’ perfectly.
