    Re the bark. Is the bark soft and spongy? I know some trees similar to this have bark so soft and spongy that you can punch it hard and feel no pain. I have always assumed the tree felt no pain either. Hope I’m right.

    He is a ‘very fine cat, indeed’: so much so, that these pix could accompany an edition of Kit Smart’s poem about his cat – both gorgeous!
