Chopped

This theme had me scratching my head for something suitable. Then I remembered the hay bales at Flodden on top of the freshly cut field. I then realised that the site being a battle field meant their was a sadder hidden meaning for the word chopped.

More chopped can be found here.

Bales were square when I was a child, but just looking a the photo brings back the lovely smell and the hot weather. I loved haying season. Probably because I wasn’t doing any of the work.

  2. What?
    Battle field?
Chopped heads on wooden spikes? :o

Shopped onions would have come to mind instantly….But this is much better, if we forget the somber meaning, and just look at the fresh, good smelling hay.

I thought of lots of chopped vegetables, but wanted to do something different. I thought of the chopped hay. Then I realised there was another connortion to the picture.
