Midway upon the journey of our life
I found myself within a forest dark,
For the straightforward pathway had been lost.
Ah me! how hard a thing it is to say
What was this forest savage, rough, and stern,
Which in the very thought renews the fear.
Cante Alighieri (1256 – 1321)
Hmm… Interesting…
Most of has have our share of being lost “within a forest dark”, metaphorically at least, enduring adventures many who know us may know little about.
On this Sunday the sun must be shining
We both saw exactly the same thing in ‘My Thought for the Day’
May I be the third in the club?
I would even steal you a ‘C’ and give you a ‘D’. : )
Hah. I didn’t notice this was from his twin brother Cante, who died in the same year also
Uff. I forgot.
What is a C and D between friends
Ah! I see! CherryPie and Dante. : )
Nice exchange of Letters. And a splendid photo, as always.
I am glad you enjoyed the exchange that my little typo caused
It’s a wonderful poem Cherie surpassed only by this perfect image of the path through the forest ….peter:)
Thank you Peter I am glad you like them both.
really like this clearing with the lush greenery
Thank you Ayush

Very ‘Bilbo’. Very ‘Mirkwood’. Very true.
Now where was I ?
Oh yes!! It is very Lord of the Rings now you come to mention it
It is nice to hear from you again
Thank you Cherie.
My close friend Barbara had ‘fall’ a while back and things here have not been quite the same.
She is is now OK and back home after four weeks in hospital.
I’m still ‘catching up.
By the way, have you heard from Angus from ‘ampshire? I’m missing him.
Cheers….Unc. B
I am sorry to hear about your friend Barbara and glad she is OK now.
I left Angus a message on his blog late August just before I went on my hols. I have not heard anything from him…
Do you have his email address?
Yes I do have his address.
Do you need it?
I have it thank you. I was going to forward it to you if you needed it
Think I’m a little past midway.
Hopefully you are back on the straightforward pathway
Do not fear, we are will you. ;p
But that looks like a very friendly forest.
It made me think of
The trees are in their autumn beauty
The woodland paths are dry
But it’s probably a couple of moths too early for that photo. The path looks inviting rather than scary.
It was a lovley woodland and the leaves were just turning. I took the photo about four weeks ago.
