Gosh, that is beautiful but somehow very sad and sombre. It must have been quite moving to see it in person.
It was quite impressive close up.
That’s a sad statue, but when you remember what effect both wars had on Belgium you realise.
Mechelen was badly affected by the war and played a big part in the history of the war.
