What is so strange to me, Cherry, is that even in my preacher’s home I did not grow up celebrating Ascension Day in America. But here in the Netherlands it’s a national holiday! Go figure! Astrid calls it Jesus’ Flying-Up Day because it’s hard for her to remember/spell Ascension. I love it.
What is important is the message that Jesus taught and left for us.
Over Jesus’ message has sadly become misunderstood by so many.
Ascension is a funny word and I have to concentrate to spell it correctly. I like Astrid’s description of ‘His’ day, which describes the day far better than a complicated word
