Stepping away from the village of Craster there wasn’t a signpost to warn less able people quite how far they would have to walk to get to the castle. I think there probably should have been a signpost showing the miles on the gate you have to pass through. Here are some of the views I saw on my way to Duntsanburgh, but I am saving the ones of the castle itself for tomorrow.

Perhaps they were trying to create a Magical Mystery Tour?

What wonderful views our of special countryside. I look forward to seeing your pics of the castle.

  3. Gosh nice scenery on the way…I don’t think there’s anywhere an ugly spot in your country – am enjoying living vicariously through your photos. :)

  4. I know it sounds crazy but cow are great in photos….I have taken a number of pics of cow recently in my local area (Well if you take as many pics as me then your going to get a few cows in there so its more by default)……sheep don’t quite have the same impact…no one dominates a field like a burly cow or bull.

Well I do have both cow and sheep photos from my holiday. Now you come to mention it the ones with cows do seem to be more dramatic.

Sounds like you enjoy photography as much as me :-)

  5. All very amateur on my part but I do enjoy playing around with the photos on photoshop or picasa…..I spend hours trying to make the world look even more dramatic than it already is.

Well I am only an amateur too ;-) But I am rather fussy about getting my photos just right (for me) with photo editing :-) I am just happy when other people like the results too.

You should share your best pics with us :-)

I like the details… was looking at the sea, then suddenly noticed the seagulls! :-)

  8. I can’t share the pics at the moment until the new site is finished…we are going over to word press….can’t wait….really excited as we are going for a more cohesive magazine type site and have made alot of mistakes in the original set up for our site…but you live and learn. James Higham has been invaluable in his help and critique. Just so glad I have found this area of blogging because its like coming home after years in the blog wilderness….there are so many good blogs out there but they are surrounded by so many nasty sites that I will not mention…And I have found myself blogging and commenting in a style that really isn’t me…. its the reason I spend so little time in the pub is that I have to become one of the lads to fit in there just to converse…..

I am looking forward to seeing your new site and I am sure you will really enjoy Wordpress. I find it so much better than Blogger, which I used to use and it is very easy to get photos just the way you want them in there. I shall stop before I start waxing lyrical about Wordpress ;-)

I know what you mean about the nasty sites. There are quite a few that I click on and then beat a hasty retreat! But on the other hand I have met some lovely people through blogging too :-)

Gorgeous pix, Cherie – that lovely, silvery-pink light: was it late-ish afternoon when you took them? Look forward to the castle tomorrow.
PS Thoroughly enjoyed your Flickr files :-) !

It was sort of mid afternoon and I didn’t realise I had captured the sea quite like that until I looked at the photo enlarged on my PC when I got home. I am rather fond of the colour too.

It was mid afternoon when I took that one :-)

looks like a great walk with lovely views too :-)

I think you would enjoy the walk :-) Some other guests where I stayed also did the walk from the other direction right past the castle and onto the town I started off in. It sounded like a lot of fun :-)
