For a few weeks now I have been wanting to go to Attingham Park to check out the autumn colours.  Yesterday was the ideal opportunity.  The weather was so lovely and for once I wasn’t already busy doing something else.  It was even warm enough to sit outside in the sun and enjoy coffee and walnut cake for lunch.

Strangely enough not many of the trees were showing their autumn coats.  A good excuse to go again soon maybe?  In amongst the green, I did manage to find a few nice colours.  I hope you like them.

The walk round the estate made a nice change from Saturday when I was out waving flags at a rally in Birmingham.  We were supporting the Pensioners Alliance and campaigning for decent pay, pensions and public services.

Well I shall dive in first and compliment you on your autumn colours. What does puzzle me though is how you can manage on coffee and cake for lunch? I prefer coffee in the morning and cake at 4 in the afternoon. Glad to hear that you have been flag waving for us pensioners. It was ALL pensioners….wasn’t it?
    (Sorry if this tooooo long!!!)

I am glad you like them :-) I find a slice of that type of cake just as filling as a sandwich, so I have to make a choice ;-) Attingham do the best coffee and walnut cake so it is hard to resist.

Well maybe not all pensioners, but it was their idea and we were supporting them :-) I think the PCS union did quite a lot of the organising for the day.

It seems to be a bit late again. Still, beautiful as it.

I find it is early in some places, then a few miles down the road it is late. I am finding it a very strange autumn but yes it is beautiful :-)

  3. AH the colours of Autumn are always stunning Cherie. Excellent photos

Wonderful, autumnal pix, Cherie. Very much appreciated here in the somewhat parched and stones-and-cement-bound south!
Oooh: coffee and walnut cake … ;-) !
Good for you and the PCS – that’s a cause needing support, thought and debate.
