The round garden was incredibly difficult to photograph due to the number of people crowding around to take in the view, not to mention those that were just standing around in groups chatting.  The guide book describes this part of the garden as follows:

The circular bed that comprises the centre of the Round Garden is planted with daphnes, dwarf rhododendrons and other ericaceous plants.  Specimen camellias at the ends of the flagged, diagonal paths emphasise the formality of the bed.  In the centre is an eighteenth century scalloped, dolphin fountain.

    Bodnant – that’s in North Wales, isn’t it? It’s on my list of places to go when we visit in a few weeks’ time.
