Weight Loss – Week ThreeI had a more modest weight loss of 0.5lb this week, but I am happy because my weight is still moving in the right direction. I wasn’t sure how I would do after my day out to Chatsworth where all the food options were high in calories. My choices had to be on the basis of the lesser of the evils, but also something I would enjoy.

The little grey star to the right of the graph shows that I have lost 7lb since I drew my line in the sand and now I am only 1lb off my 5% goal.

One thing I have noticed from my weight loss so far is that my lungs (airways) have become clearer which has surprised me a little because I am still concious of the fact that I need to get a bit more exercise of some sort.

Which leads me on to the conversation about bicycles at work today, some of my male colleagues cycle to work when the weather is favourable.  This made me think that when we move offices later in the year it would much easier for me to cycle to work than it is now.  We identified that there is an off road cycle route (next to the road) all the way to the new office location, so maybe it is time to dust off my cycle and get it serviced (the chain is slipping a bit).  I always enjoyed going out for a cycle ride but it wasn’t totally safe for someone alone on some of the enclosed pathways that were the only options at the time.

My final thought is that I have another eating out challenge tomorrow night…  Wish me luck ;-)

Well done on the continued weight loss.
I have tried to be really good this week, so I’ll see later today if it’s had any effect.
I think getting your bike out is a great idea – go for it :-)

The cycling route sounds really convenient! When I have a meal out I always have diet coke! Somewhere in my scheming mind I feel it cancels some of the calories and allows me a tiny burp which makes room for more food! lol!

    • CherryPie says:

I should probably have diet coke instead of a glass of wine shouldn’t I? I don’t think I would get away with even a little burp with the people that I am going with…

Half a stone! Well done. We’re off to a do this weekend and staying in a hotel so I’m anticipating a battle with my will power!

    • CherryPie says:

It is difficult isn’t it? I am usually OK as long as they have some interesting healthy options but sadly these days such things aren’t often on the menu when you are eating out.

I managed to resist the sweet option again on my meal out tonight.

Good luck for the weekend, I hope your will power prevails :-)

You will have to watch out!
You’ll have James Higham out with his ‘Box Bownie’ trying to get a picture of you for his blog!

    • CherryPie says:

That is a bit of a worry isn’t it? I dread to think what comments that picture would get over at James’ from some of his readers ;-)

    Hi CherryPie

Seems to me that a lot of my blogger friends are on diets .. . I am not going to .. just need to tone up , what I have,. Hate going to the gym though. Love cycling, but not many safe places here either .. I do bike in to town but that is only a Mile or so.. Sometimes also I just cycle right round the village perimeter .. better than nothing. :-) Love your new look blog, I need to leave blogger and branch out, just a bit scared of setting it all up. Thanks for your lovely comments bye for now Anne

      Nice to see you :-)

I should get into the habit of just going for a short cycle ride. Mine needs a small service before I can use it properly.

I am glad you like the new look Blog. You could always set up a Wordpress account and tinker around with the free options and see if you like it. I much prefer using it to Blogger and I struggled with getting the templates I liked there.

Congrats on your weight loss – you are on your way to your goal. It is also good that you have set a realistic goal. I hope you were able to find some good options on your meal out. Eating out is always difficult.

    • CherryPie says:

      Thanks Marta,

I had breaded fish and chose a jacket potato to go with it, I even left the bottom layer of breadcrumbs. There were some even more healthy options such as Tuna and poached salmon, so now I know where to go if I fancy a meal out :-)

Ah yes, I do look forward to Mr Higham’s new series: “Cherry Pies on Bicycles”. Congratulations on the continuing downward trend. One key thing, however, is not to despair when an upward blip occurs, which can often in any case just be a statistical blip in an inexact and complex combination of fallible machinery (the scales, not you) and variable water content (that you, not the machine).

    • CherryPie says:

      Please don’t encourage him!!

      Thanks for the advice :-)

I will probable be irritated when I experience one of those upward blips, but I won’t let it put me off. I still have my wardrobe full of clothes to look forward to when I have lost a few more pounds ;-)
