Haha I was wondering why the ES until I looked harder and the penny dropped!
I know it is a bit obscure, but I do like to have my fun
Clever. What does ES stand for?
Elizabeth Shrewsbury, it tells you a bit about her in the hyperlink.
I like obscure ones like this! It’s a lovely place.
It was a great place to visit
It took me a minute to find it as well. Very clever.
I didn’t realise quite how small it looked on this size photo.
I was lost, lol, until I looked closely. Great take on the theme.
Have a great weekend.

Glad you like it
Why ES? Oh, I see others have worked it out; I’d better go and look again.
Seeing it for real it looked rather showy.
A lovely shot.
Thank You
Shaking my head and laughing. How luck you are to be so close to all these wonderful historical places. I did live in London for two years, long ago and was in seventh heaven visiting historical sites.
Happy weekend to you Cherie.
I have to keep reminding myself that not everyone is as lucky as me in being able to visit so many wonderful places.
I hope you have had a good weekend
Elizabeth Harwick was probably the most influential woman in England after Elizabeth I. I read a book recently about her. Bess of Hardwick was an amazing woman who, despite her links to people who fell in and out of favour with the Queen, managed not only to keep her life but outlived Elizabeth. One of Bess’ husbands, the Earl of Shrewsbury, was “keeper” of Mary, Queen of Scots… and was most probably driven mad by Elizabeth’s (the queen) refusal to properly reimburse him for his expenses or relieve him of this onerous duty.
She is a fascinating lady isn’t she? Which book about her did you read? If you click on the letters ES in this post it takes you to my review of a book I recently read about her.
