When I visit Alnwick Garden, my first port of call in the Ornamental Garden. This is reached by walking up past the Grand Cascade.  I found that the garden is more colourful in September, but there were a lot of pretty greens on this visit.

Tomorrow I will show you some of the colourful flowers that were dotted around the borders.

Poppies

Something to do with the light … or the blooms?

Very lovely! Is the white bird real (on first photo)?

    • CherryPie says:

Yes Claude, the bird is real :-) I was struggling with the photos, because the birds kept turning their back on my and ducking into the dovecote.

This was the best picture I captured!!!

I love gardens like this, Cherie. You English are so known for them, of course. I especially like all the poppies. :)

  4. It is truly lovely Cherie

Although there are beautiful shrubs, roses and flowers within these walls, I like how you have caught the classic lines of small hedgerows depicting the long walkways and the composition of the fountain image. Two shots for me that represent this garden.

      Thanks J :-)

I really wanted to capture the water feature in the middle of the garden but there was a party of school children right in the middle of the shot, not to mention to many other people in the shot ;-) The kids where having a whale of a time walking along the water way where the were not supposed to be, it made me smile and has left me with a good memory of the occasion :-)
