This is the first time I have visited the Rose Garden when it is in full bloom, it was worth the wait. It is filled with David Austin roses, so it is a little bit like home from home for me although I have to confess that I have never visited David Austin Roses… I must remedy that :-)

In the Rose Garden, pathways below pergolas swathed in roses, honeysuckle and clematis lead through tumbling masses of fragrant roses, a mix of climbing, shrub, old and English varieties. There are more than three thousand David Austin Roses, including Just Joey, Jude the Obscure and Gertrude Jekyll.

In celebration of The Alnwick Garden, David Austin created a beautiful new English rose, the Alnwick Rose, launched at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2001. This rich pink rose has a lovely cup-shaped flower and a delicious fragrance with a hint of raspberries.*

  2. Come and see the Queen Mary’s Rose Garden in London.
There you can see the best collections of roses. :)

I think the best collection of roses was in my Dad’s front garden. It was just there, and always turned the heads of passers by ;-)

It was a lot of hard-work though ;-)

  3. I need someone to care for my garden that well!
