There is nothing better then a nice cup of tea to quench your thirst and refresh the soul.

This cuppa was taken in taken in a building adjoining the walled garden that featured in my previous posts. There were many tempting delights from fresh sandwiches and light lunches to cakes… I was just content with my cup of tea.

Within the cafe there is also a deli counter with pies, quiches and fresh ham and beef off the bone which I am sure the locals enjoy taking home.

  1. I do like the china

Ah yes… “A cup of tea, a raisin scone, and thou beside me, with the telly on…” (as Omar Khayyam almost said). I do like my tea, provided nobody tries putting any milk or sugar near it. That would be outrageous.

    • CherryPie says:

I am not sure if Omar would approve of the telly, but apart from that…

      Perhaps I shouldn’t go into that ;-)

Back to the cup of tea :-) Mine has to have a little bit of milk in it but it must not interfere with the tea taste! I do also have to have the merest drop of something sweet just to take off what I find a flat edge in the taste.

      I didn’t realise I was outrageous ;-)

  3. Claude says:

It’s so very English. And delightful….

  4. Bernard says:

I have to admit I am not a great tea drinker, but if I am going to have a cuppa, I do prefer it a wee stronger than the one above.
My sister-in-law however, is completely the opposite. …

I think that I shall never see,
A drink as weak as poor Jane’s tea:
For when it pours out from the pot,
    I can’t tell if it’s tea or not !
The water’s there for all to see,
But only God could find the tea.

I am with you on this one. I like me tea to taste of tea :-) But if I am thirsty almost any will do as long as it doesn’t have too much milk in.

Needed that this morning. The china is important too.

  7. MTG says:

Doesn’t it look good in action? I am thirsty already but would hardly give a thought to such a tea service whilst it was part of a cold shop display.

    • CherryPie says:

It does look good in action. Like you though it wouldn’t get my attention if it sitting out of action somewhere. I doesn’t have a buy me air about it.
