After leaving Malham it was too early to go straight home so there was a detour via Tatton Park to have a picnic lunch and enjoy the gardens.  The picnic lunch had been made up at Beck House and the sandwiches were delicious.

On Saturday I attended a planned celebration trip to Alton Towers.  I am not a fan of roller-coaster rides etc. but there were other opportunities there for me to enjoy

St Oswald’s Church is situated opposite the entrance to Bolton castle. The church dates back to the 14th century, although some of the carved stones in the tower may date back to the 12th century.
