…information on my hectic Easter weekend and yet another mini break. I would like to say I am going back to work for a rest tomorrow, but somehow I think it will be busy there too!
For now I am continuing with photos from my mini break to Newcastle. Here is a picture of the quaintly named Amen Corner. JD sent me a link that says this is where clergy came to the end of prayer taken in procession around the outside of the cathedral.
Well, Amen to that.
I like the street sign Cherie… as well as the story about clergy finishing their prayers there.
At the Augusta National Golf Course, where they play the Masters tournament every year… the second shot at the 11th, all of the 12th, and the tee shot at the 13th hole at Augusta are nicknamed “Amen Corner”
if you are able to get passed these three holes on Sunday with the lead… and you don`t mess it up… you should have a good chance of winning this prestigious tournament….peter:)
It captured my imagination, hence the photo
Thank you for the story about Augusta National Golf Course. It made me smile
Love it, and the history!
Thanks RD
hang on a minute…..
looking at the perspective, were you standing on a step ladder?
I was standing next to the cathedral, not in the street below
Ha ha… That’s a funny street name!
I was rather taken with it
I have never researched or asked about this sign before, thanks for that.
The sign captured my imagination
