It is the mind that creates the world around us, and even though we stand side by side in the same meadow, my eyes will never see what is beheld by yours, my heart will never stir to the emotions with which yours is touched.

These poppies look so pretty with the wind blowing through the grass, Cherie

I love that quote and the photo accompanying it is perfect. I love your spirituality and calm, Cherie.

But don’t you think the world around us sometimes creates the mind? I am very sensitive to ambiance and vibes,so places become very important to me as they affect my frame of mind greatly. I create great ambiance in my homes with little touches like the right art work, colours, fresh flowers, incense etc. If I go to a place with ‘bad’ ambiance, I leave pretty quickly.

Anyway, your quote was just perfect for me today,so thank you.

The picture was taken in historically spiritually charged place. It makes me smile that it shows through :-)

I think we are able to create our own minds. We just need (as you say) to focus on the calming things in life to make us feel good. We need to focus on the light and step away from darkness…

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

It’s so true, Cherry. We are all different witnesses to the same things. That still blows my mind!

  4. Mark in Mayenne says:

One of the great unknowables. Is your green like my green?

    • CherryPie says:

I don’t suppose it matters as long as we both enjoy our green :-)

      • Mark in Mayenne says:

It is a question of utmost, fundamental importance.

        • CherryPie says:

          And the answer is?

          • Mark in Mayenne says:

I don’t have an answer. There is absolutely no reason why you should see or hear anything as I do. Your brain is quite different from mine in its connections even though made of the same stuff. If we see differently why should we agree on what is a harmonious colour scheme. If we hear differently why should we agree on harmony? But generally we do agree. Why on earth?

            • CherryPie says:

It is good that people see things in different ways. If they didn’t life would be boring, there would be nothing more to explore or expand our horizons :-)

  5. Astrid says:

Is your green as my green :) It depends, I would say. we are content with our green and we love your green.
A great picture and love the red of the poppies in it.

  6. Lovely quote and photo.

  7. Bernard says:

That is all very, very true.
When I have taken girl-friends and in my later days lady-friends to Steam Rallies, Country Fairs or even Auto-jumbles held in our beautiful English meadows, they would never have eyes for what was beheld by mine! And….their hearts would never stir to the emotions (and smell of steam) that touched mine. :-)

    • CherryPie says:

HaHa :-) Perhaps you took the wrong girls and ladies although I can’t think of any of the top of my head that would enjoy the smell of steam ;-)

  8. Claude says:

    Splendid photo!

  9. I saw so many wild poppies in Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Kent recently.
Did a lot of countryside walks. ;)
