Ah, thank you, CherryPie. I shall rest a while. : )
I reserved a place for you on that bench in the distance in the first photo
What a beautiful flowery walk.
It was wonderful
Enchanting! Thank you.
Glad you like it
I visited Hodnet many years ago, it is always nice to visit gardens that are still family owned as they have a style that is individual and not the “as in the trade” we used to say been National Trussed.
By that I mean so many NT gardens when taken over are “improved” and the planting theme in many can be followed one to another, not always bad but they loose that character the original owners laid down.
Hodnet Hall has been one of my favourite gardens for many years. On one of my early visits I was sitting enjoying the view on one of the benches when the owner breezed past me and asked if I was enjoying the garden…
My favourite gardens (of those I have visited) in no particular order are; Hodnet Hall Gardens, Powis Castle, Alnwick Castle, Abbey House Garden and Cragside formal garden (in September).
Beautiful. But it seems like only yesterday. This summer is going by so fast!
There are autumn berries on the trees and it is only August!!!
I LOVE magnolia trees. In fact, aside from the weeping willow I think they are my favourite.
They are beautiful and so very short lived.
Beautiful! I love that first photo.
It is a beautiful setting and we dropped lucky and visited on that one perfect week in the year
