On arrival at Kitchen W8 we were offered an aperitif, perhaps we would like champagne? A perfect option to celebrate the birthday of a gentleman reaching a certain age. The food was delicious, the waiter attentive and always asking before pouring more wine. A perfect end to our stay in London.

Delish but [cough] not a lot on each plate, Cherie.

Hope you both enjoyed the occasion, I’m sure you did.
On a practical note, for a London Michelin starred restaurant and the inflated prices that go with that accolade the menu was very reasonable.
And James I know where your coming from, but I can assure you that display is generous compared to some establishments I have had the misfortune to alight upon.

We did thank you :-) It was Mr Cs birthday celebration.

As you mentioned we didn’t find the prices too bad for an establishment of its kind. The food was very nice, they flavours were put together well.

We have also eaten very well in Winchester where we have been for a week.

  4. Looks expensive.

Although I do see the attraction of the “fine dining” experience, I confess I am more comfortable with reasonable “pub grub” ordered at the bar and no snooty waiting staff pretending to be my friend because they want me to leave them a tip just for doing their job (unlike less well-paid check-out operators, cleaners, nursing assistants, care home staff…). Oh… I set out to write a brief comment and soon began a rant. I do that a lot. Must learn when to shut-up (which is generally before I even start, probably).

    Looks nice.

It was moderately priced and it was a special occasion ;-)

Pub grub is fine too as long as they don’t over fill the plate which they often seem to where I live. Some portions that are served would easily feed two people.

You seem mega-busy just now, Cherie. Hope you’re OK.
