Proteus Bluebird CN7

The first car to officially set a Land Speed Record in excess of 400mph and the last to be wheel driven. Bluebird CN7 was one of a long line of speed machines associated with the Campbell family. Donald Campbell already held the Water Speed Record now his goal was 400mph on land. Technical support and backing came from British industry.

You have been at some great places. Fabulous cars, great detail.
The real tiny one is almost something from a cartoon.
Amazing that people drove that ‘little thing’.
Speed and cars, they go hand in hand.
For me, I like to make as much miles with the fuel. A fun challenge :)

I personally like a practical, comfortable car that gives good miles to the gallon. The old cars however are rather romantic and classic in design.

The Summmers Brothers ‘Goldenrod’ is also wheel driven and set a higher speed though in a different class

Hi Robert, thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment :-)

I had not heard of the Goldenrod before. I Googled it. What a fascinating machine!
