As you can see from the previous post Rhydspence is a little uneven in shape. The floors are also uneven and requiring adjustment to the furniture. This all adds to its charm.

Magnificent room – love the top photo.
I agree about the room. I wished we were staying there more than one night
Wonderful room and I love that it shows the beams and the white plaster in between.
I rather like the bathroom door too
Hi CherryPie.
Now – as an engineer, I would say that the dresser has two legs on the left, shorter than the two legs on the right. The blocks are to rectify this??
If the floor was ‘wonky’ the wee little stool would also have had two twee blocks on the left for similar adjustment.
Just an observation from here in Bucks, you understand.
I’m sure you are right about the floor – as you were more affected than I am – but, are you sure that you didn’t have just a teeny, weeny bit too much vino that evening?
.
And now, here you are at Blenheim – just up the road from me. I haven’t tried it myself as I tend to avoid crowded attractions.
I must tell you. I have just bought myself a little motor-home (££) and last week I set off to Suffolk, an area I have never visited before. I ended up on a farm near Lavenham and enjoyed the calm and tranquility so much – I stayed a whole week – until at last my supply of clean undies ran out. :-O
Regards… B
It was quite noticeable when sitting on the stool that it required similar adjustment
It was also noticeable that you had to walk uphill to look out of the window… All of this was a great incentive not to have too much to drink. But I do wonder if too much of the vino was imbibed if the floor would become flat and even
Having a motor-home to take off in sounds like great fun, Suffolk is an area I have not visited either.
It is lovely to hear from you
i mentioned that the building wasn’t plumb in my last comment Cherie… now you have showed us just how much the floors are uneven… i love the dressing table with the blocks on one side…
i have lived in such buildings in my youth….peter:)
A nice bit of history for you then
