Or with a camera, or just with an eye… (I can’t really make sense of the quote).
If we sit and reflect on nature it provides harmony which leads to joy…
But the words imply the eye is made quiet by the harmony and the joy, not that the joy is the consequence, as you suggest… I am all mixed up about the sequence of causation in the words (but I am mixed up about most things). I can sort of get what is sort of implied, but dare I suggest that someone good with words could have said it better? I have no respect for reputation, eh? (I will shut up now, but I enjoy thinking about these thoughts).
Andrew: Read Plato’s Timaeus.46 about eyes and mirrors
That should confuse you even further
Both Plato and Wordsworth are pointing poetically to the same thing.
I am confused enough thanks
it’s a wonderful thought for the week Cherie… but an even better image of the angel wings in the clouds….peter:)
I hadn’t seen that until you mentioned it. Thank you
The skies above and the oceans below…the frontiers are still before us, Cherry, no matter how confusing it all may seem!
We just have to master them
Well, I’m late to this party, as usual – but may I just say that though I think I get the quote, I am tempted to replace the word “eye” for “mouth”, in my personal case
If I understand this quote properly the truth is within the eye.
Look at those cirrus clouds.
They were very pretty
