It is a wonderful building
I remember visiting Gloucester Cathedral as a child and was struck by the roof architecture of the cloisters.
The cloisters are fabulous. There is the roof architecture you mention and also stained glass, light reflections and the lavatorium is well worth a look
I scrolled through the pictures and are they magnificent. The ceiling is worth it to crack your neck. It is beautiful. What great craftsmanship. I think you were ’short of eyes’ to take it all in. Love the top picture with the sun making a painting on the pillars… (through the stained glass)
There is so much to see in there and I know that I missed a lot.
