Garlic Mushrooms

I had an early start so I could take my mum to the orthopedic hospital for a routine check up. After the long drive she was in and out within 15 minutes so we visited Elsmere for elevenses, although we were a little early it was only 10.30. Far too early for the lunch we had planned.

After I had dropped mum off at home (she had some things to do) I went for lunch at a local farm shop and then took a leisurely stroll along the river in Ironbridge.

  1. I love the ducks and the bee. I really must re-visit Ironbridge – my family on the paternal side lived in Broseley for several hundred years.

The ducks are only there for a short while. I have managed to see 5 of them so far. I need to go on an extended walk to see the rest of them. Unfortunately local vandals have damaged a few of them after a night out on the town.

There are few things more pleasant than strolling beside a slow, lazy river in the shade of leafy trees. Perhaps being in a small boat on the river. The breakfast looks yummy but I cannot say with hand on heart that the multicoloured duck edifices do anything for my appetite. And whoever erected that enormous tower thingo could at least have painted trees on it.

    :)

  3. I have not been there in a few years.
Ha… I see many ducks. I feel hungry now.

Are those mushrooms on toast? That is one of my favourite breakfasts. I used to forage for mushrooms with my grandpa when I was young.

Garlic mushrooms on toast. The portion was a lot bigger than it looks in my photo.

It was billed as a starter and it could easily have served two people. The food was delicious but I was overfaced by the size of the dish.

Love those ducks, somebody had fun making them. Food looks great too

They are a bit of fun for the kids over the summer months. A family trail to find them all. The children loved designing them and their designs were brought to life by artists :-)

The powerstation has been decommissioned and this tower and the others are due to be demolished later this year/early next year.
