At the beginning of October I ventured into Apley Woods. Over the summer months I found the woods too busy so this was my first visit for some time. This visit was a stark contrast because, with the exception of the fishermen, I saw only a few other people, which meant that I was able to explore pathways I had not travelled before.
Along the way, I remembered that I am supposed to be plotting a walking route around the area to share with other walkers.
I know what you mean about not having so many people around again now that walking is not such a popular thing. When going for a walk was one of the only permitted things to do outside earlier in the year, I was amazed at how many people emerged
After the first few weeks most of the new walkers had given up. The only people left were regular walkers and families with children enjoying the wildlife.
Stunning photos and it looks such a beautiful place to walk. Places do seem thank goodness to have gone quieter. I couldn’t believe earlier in the year how so many of my favourite places were just rammed full of people when normally you would see no-one!
It is a lovely place to walk. I like to meet people on my walks but I don’t like them to be crowded.
