I love canal towpaths. I discovered those near Staines only late on during my residence there but then rode my bike along them frequently.
I like walking along them too. This one was quiet and peaceful although we met some characters along the way.
Living or holidaying near a canal would be wonderful, especially if you own or can borrow a barge. The barges in the second last photo look perfect.
I know two people that own a barge for one of them it is their permanent residence

i loved canal and it’s surroundings are beautiful
I find walking near to water relaxing and captivating
