Ripon always looks impressive, but I wish the road wasn’t built quite as close to the building. Was there ever a time when the cathedral was surrounded by gardens?
I have not researched the surroundings of Ripon Cathedral.

I must read about this Cathedral, Cherie. Apart from York Minster, I only know the Southern Cathedrals
It is a lovely Cathedral. It was a shame that we couldn’t go in on this visit to Ripon.
