Was that round building used as a bandstand? I would love to be sitting on the lawn in summer.

You must have been very happy there with such a variety of things to photograph, Cherie

  3. Lovely photos. It is nice there but I do prefer Winterbourne House and Gardens in Edgbason (Uni of Bham’s botanical garden).

After we had finished our visit to the Botanical gardens Mr C declared it was time for afternoon tea and cake. I suggested we call in at Winterbourne. On arrival he wasn’t convinced there would be a teashop as it wasn’t advertised. I did a quick Google search to confirm there was. Then he asked what was there to see… I said it doesn’t matter we can get in for free with our HH ticket. He wasn’t convinced that we could get in for free and said we would leave it for when we had more time…

This left us driving in the wrong direction home and limited options for afternoon tea! Eventually after one aborted option we stopped at a motorway service station. It had a Costa which I know serves perfect tea, much to the surprise of Mr C ;-) The service station also had a wonderful view over the countryside :-)

  4. Those tropical plants in the green houses reminded me of my home town. :)
We can grow giant orchids outdoors on the ground, isn’t that amazing?
But if you wanna see beautiful orchids, then you should visit the National Orchid Garden in Singapore.
