Hodnet Hall Gardens

Mr C surprised me with an impromptu visit to Hodnet Hall Gardens, a place I planned to visit (alone) the previous week but having tested positive for Covid I chose to stop at home to keep my bugs to myself.

We had lunch before walking round the gardens and grounds on one of the last open days for this season. The weather wasn’t entirely kind to us with a lone black cloud deciding to shed its watery load at just the wrong moment. The randomness of that cloud added to the enjoyment of our visit.

Thank You Mr C :-)

I have visited many stately homes over the decades, but I cannot remember hearing about Hodnet Hall or its gardens. What a shame… the gardens look and water areas look very peaceful.

Hodnet Hall Gardens are one of my top gardens to visit. I am so lucky that it is so close to home.

The house itself is not open to visitors.

  2. It looks very quiet and autumnal there. I do hope you’ve feeling better now.

i think you came away with some excellent pictures and gorgeous colours in the trees, CP. hope you had mild symptoms.

I didn’t know you’d tested positive – well, I guess you’re okay now, since you went on this lovely fall trip afterwards? :)

Great shots, Cherie – I think #2, #9 and #10 are my favorites, nothing like that can be found here – plus the one directly above Mr. C. I had to do a double take on #8, though, because that one looks so much like here in Kentucky!

I also like the first shot – it looks like a still shot from a movie and it makes me wonder who’s going to wonder in or what’s going to happen next :)

I had to be quick taking the first photo so that the couple walking towards me weren’t the main focus of the photo.

Photo 8 shows a dovecote in the distance, it is a quaint shape :-)

Still feeling a bit tired after my positive test result. I am so glad I didn’t catch the original version of the virus.

It’s a treat to be taken out, especially to somewhere you thought you had missed. You both look very happy with the day

  7. Ha ha! You were not alone, I also had Covid a couple of weeks ago.
Took me around a week to fully recover. ;)

  8. Wonderful photos! I’ve been meaning to visit Hodnet Hall Gardens some time.

I hope you’re feeling better now.

You will have to put Hodnet at the top of your list for when it opens next year.

Thank you :-) It has left me feeling tired and lethargic.
