The Butterfly Meadow was a collaborative art installation in the grounds of Sandringham. The installation was inspired by the 2014 ceramic poppy display at the Tower of London.
The Sandringham meadow displayed 2,500 butterflies to coincide with the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The blue butterflies represented the silver-studded blue butterfly which is commonly seen in Norfolk.
What a lovely idea and so pretty with clouds of blue butterflies. Have a good weekend.
It looked spectacular and I loved the butterfly story boards.
Oh this is similar to the poppy installation.
Lateral thinking.
Oh next time, we might see some honeybee, cupcake or diamond installations?
This artwork was certainly poppy inspired
