    I wonder if the orange in the ceiling over the altar is a common church colour. Perhaps it was matching the colour of the stone below.

    Gloucester Cathedral is really beautiful.
    Almost as pretty as Bath Abbey.

    Bath Abbey is also not free. ;)
    To conclude, pretty churches cost a lot of money to maintain.
    So let’s make churches as plain as possible.

      Gloucester is Free to enter.

      Plain churches? Abusolutely fine, they would have no visitors. But history, art and spirit of worship not to mention the spirit of collective worship being absorbed into the fabric of the building would be missing…

    Beautiful Cathedral.
    If I’m not mistaken, I think works of art were stored in the crypts of this Cathedral during WWII.
