Was Halloween a Christian holiday? It is so close to Christmas, perhaps people got them mixed up. Especially Australians who had never heard of Halloween til a couple of years ago.
In recent times Halloween is a new thing that has migrated from America. It seemed to arrive after the film ET aired. Prior to that our celebrattion was Bonfire Night with its historical tradition.
Halloween, not in its modern form has its roots in the pre-Christian festival of Samhain.
Yes, indeed. Spooky decorations are swapped for twinkling lights and festive cheer. Cosy sweaters replace costumes as the spirit of celebration takes centre stage.

I much prefer the Christmassy celebrations although I do like autumnal colours and the Harvest Festival.

Bye bye Satan.
And hello Santa!
Ha ha I should patent this phrase for the transition period.
Well it wouldn’t quite work for me
Christmas is not about Santa.
Ha ha I know but I am running out of words that pair with Satan.
You just have to make do.
Oh, we do have santan in Malaysia though.
It means “coconut milk”.
