A peace garden is always a great idea. The beauty of the plants comes from both human hard labour and nature’s gift. So no damage should ever be done by humans.
This one is in memory of a local man who shared lots of knowledge about the area.
Oh I visited the other “Wellington” in New Zealand, just last month!
I am not too sure, but I think it was named after the Duke of Wellington?
But I am sure this Wellington in Shropshire existed before the duke was born?
The Shropshire town of Wellington is thought to be derived from a Saxon settler, Weola whose farmstead would have been located in the centre of the town, possibly near the church green.
