I'm Late...

Some, though not all, tables on the outside terrace were back in operation so we were able to enjoy breakfast Al Fresco again.

Casa Museo Frederico de Freitas

We walked to the Casa Museo Frederico de Freitas museum which houses an interesting china teapot collection. After our visit, it wasn’t time for lunch so we visited the nearby museum of natural history.

Sea Life

Cheese Burger

Tuna Toasty

The nearby café was full so we walked back into town, ending up in the Sacred Art Museum’s Café for lunch.

Refreshments

We perused the Funchal guide book and decided the most interesting option nearby was A Cidade Do Acucar museum that documents the history of Madeira through its sugar cane trading. As with our other visits of the day, the experience was brief so with time on our hands we found a cosy square to in which to sit and rest a while with a glass of wine and beer. The snack that accompanied the drinks was peanuts in their shells, a first for us.

Amuse-bouche

We lingered a while before returning to the hotel to chill out before dining in the hotel’s restaurant, Uva. We had an aperitif of dry Madeira before dining, which we were served by a gentleman we had become accustomed to showing us to our table at breakfast and he chose the most appropriate Madeira for us. He was also one of the servers that helped us enjoy our fine dining experience.
