I had a lazy start to the day to catch up from all my recent rushing around. The day was so lovely and sunny I just had to get out and about and soak up the atmosphere. I had a little walk along the river and then sat on a certain bench near a certain tree within Dale End park, it made me feel very nostalgic. The petals from the blossom tree were cascading around me just like confetti.

The park is still lovely but I was disappointed to find that a children’s playground has been built at the entrance which rather spoils the the beauty of the park. I can think of far better places that the playground could have been placed to still maintain the original atmosphere of the place.

Just as I was about to leave I heard loud music blaring out, Tom Jones ‘It’s not unusual to be loved by anyone’! I looked up and saw I camper van racing along the road with someone standing up with their head out of the roof. The van came careering onto the car park past where my car was parked and I was a little alarmed. But when I got onto the carpark I saw a wedding party making their way down to the river for a photo opportunity. On closer inspection of the van I noticed it was all decked out with ribbons, bows and flowers both inside and out. How cute :-)

The first two pictures show the bench, the tree and the blossom tree as they were today. I was standing by the playground to get the picture of the tree. The third picture was taken three years ago from a position that is now in the playground, you can just see the base of the tree in the background. Half of the crocuses from that view have been lost underneath the playground.

Oh! BTW… Do you want to see a picture of why it made me feel nostalgic?

  2. CalumCarr says:

    Yes!!!

Let the kids have their playpark near the entrance. Can’t have them walking furthe than they need to. :)

I will see what I can do about that picture then :-) I might have to be a little creative.

The place I had in mind wasn’t that much further away and it would have meant the park could have stayed in it’s original state.

I feel sad that I have missed the early spring flowers. I must get out more too.

Really pretty…sad that some of the flowers are gone but no-one ever seems to think when it comes to these things…
Strange wedding party, I think I quite like the idea of that one, lol
