This building is called ‘The Poem’ and it was built as a mausoleum by Henry Davis Ponchin, the founder of the gardens. It is the final resting place for Henry and his family, although it is not known why it is called ‘The Poem’.

The second photo shows a ‘camera’s lens’ view through the small gaps within the door. It gives a glimpse of a lovely family memorial.

A mausoleum might not be just the thing at this particular moment, Cherie.

I thought the tribute was quite fitting in all ways.

In the last few weeks there have been (in my case) too many untimely deaths. I feel the fullness of those lives should be celebrated, although the people who are left behind are saddened by the loss.

I found ‘The Poem’ quite comforting and inspirational.

  2. What a wonderful name!
