Last week a blue envelope with a large ‘18′ printed on it landed on my doormat. It was an invitation to my nephew’s 18th birthday party later this month.
Now where did all those years go? It only seems like yesterday when he was a baby sitting on my Dad’s knee enthralled by him explaining the ‘Theory of Relativity’. I am not sure how much of that he took in though
I was going to share a particular photograph with you, but it seems to be hiding in my box of photo memories so perhaps that just wasn’t meant to be.
The question concerns velocity when the answer implies acceleration.
I think I could do with a bit of deceleration at the moment
I know just how you feel, but worse!
My nephews & nieces are getting married!
‘Relatively’ speaking …..Enjoyment = Memories Cherished (squared)
I don’t know how to do ’superscript’.
Never mind. Have a good party……Bernard.
I am trying not to think of the time when my nephews will get married. I can still remember them in their cute little morning suits at mine. I will have to see if I can find a photo for you
It is a family party so it should be a good one
Time is most certainly speeding up.
I wish it wouldn’t quite so much!
I know how you feel Cherie, my nephews are 25 and 22
It makes you think doesn’t it?
Can’t understand the kerfuffle: My eldest nephews are 50 and 45.
Well, and there’s no need to wish ‘Enjoy the party, CherryPie’, as you will anyway.
Hm?
Now you put it like that it does change the perspective a little
Ah yes, enjoy I will
Two of my best pals had their 50th birthday party on Saturday.
That’s bad enough for me
I think I will keep it secret how old I am this year
How old do you feel?
That’s how old you are.
Most days that means not very old then
BTW I left you a link to a photo on the first Hardwick Old Hall post.
Fab shot.
Did you dig at both ends?
There is supposed to be gold there.
Hope you enjoy your next visit as much as I hope you enjoyed your previous visit.
Not sure about 2003, but now, there is a reasonable cafe at the Garden centre/craft/gift, shop in the grounds.
Everything has been commercialised lately.
Although not a “home”, Buxton is not too far away, and there is some quite classical architecture there, just waiting for funds for restoration. Worth a visit if you have the time.
Or you could nip over to Sheffield. Google “Botanical Gardens Sheffield” and find them on google maps. Well worth a photographers lense, but check the opening times.
Thanks for all of that
If the cafe is the one I remember it has a rather distinctive painting on the wall! Although I could be thinking of a different place entirely…
I didn’t know there were botanical gardens in Sheffield so that is new to me.
Everything seems to be far too commercialised these days, I prefer things the way they used to be.
My nephews are 21, 18 and 17! I remain their favourite Aunt! lol!
My other nephew is 17. I am their favourite Aunt too, but that is because I am their only Aunt LOL
I wonder if that “anonomouse” is the little one that has also nibbled round at my place on a couple of occasions (although I think that may have been “anonymouse” with a y not an a… Anyway, the pesky little rodent conveys bad news: “How old do you feel? That’s how old you are.” OK then, I’m 325…
I meant “not an o”. Sorry, getting careless in my great old age.
Andrew Scott,
I’m curious, where in my question is the evidence that it was directed towards yourself?
You are entitled to wonder, of course.
Please do it quietly!
Gosh that’s a stern and presumptious anonomouse – telling me to be quiet with my comments on someone else’s blog! Must be a female anonomouse. Thanks for permission to wonder though. Very considerate.
I don’t know about pesky, anonymouse seems quite helpful to me
I am not sure about the anon/s on your blog though…
Oops! it seems I got my O & Y muddled up too!
Who would have thought I came at the top of my class at spelling when I was at school?!?!?!?!?!!!!
Does that say something about me or something about the school?
